Service Description

Classes for the confident beginner through to the advanced stitcher. You will be expected to know how to wind a bobbin, thread your sewing machine and to have previously used a zipper foot. If you don't know how to do these things, maybe check out our Introduction to Sewing/Sewing for beginners classes. In the Sewing Pretty and Useful Things Club we sew all sorts of pretty and useful things! Every week or two (depending how long a project takes!) we start a new project; ranging from book covers, applique cushions and oven gloves to sewing machine covers, bags and aprons. You bring your own choice of fabric (or purchase a fabric kit - let me know in advance!) and use the In Stitches sewing equipment to work on your project with guidance from Becky, your class teacher. Why not join us, learn and perfect your skills and develop your techniques, and gain the support of a community while you sew? How it works: You bring with you the fabric for the weeks project and use the In Stitches equipment to work on your project. Some projects will run over 2 weeks. The Sew Pretty and Useful Things Club currently runs on Thursday afternoons, and you can either pay per class or for a block of classes which entitles you to attend the sessions of your choice, subject to availability. It is important to book your class prior to attending, and if you need to cancel you must if you give 24 hours notice in order for your session to be transferred to another date. Late cancellations are, I am afraid, non-refundable/transferrable. There is a minimum number of attendees needed to run the club, and this policy is to help ensure sustainability. I try very hard not to cancel sessions, but it is occasionally unavoidable. Should this occur you will be offered a choice between attending a future session or receiving a refund for the missed session.
