Sew a Flip Quilt

Service Description
Join us to make a cheaty "quick quilt" from reclaimed fabrics. You will be taught how to use one of our sewing machines, and will then create a patchwork quilt - using a doubled thickness of fleece or fleece and a decorative fabric. your quilt will then be finished by adding a backing. This course takes place over 2 sessions. Please do not book if you cannot attend both sessions. If you have any old fleece tops or blankets or brushed cotton sheets that you would like to bring along to add to our fabric bag to make the quilts, then we would be very grateful! This workshop is part of the Winter Warmers series, which has been sponsored by Swansea Community Workshops, with funding from the Community Matters Fund. It is provided free to participants who are experiencing fuel poverty: the Welsh Government defines a fuel poor household as “being in fuel poverty if they are unable to keep their home warm at a reasonable cost. This is measured as any household needing to pay more than 10% of their full household income to maintain a satisfactory heating regime.” If you wish to attend the course but do not meet the criteria there are a limited number of places available at a cost of £15.
