Sew a fleece winter accessory set

make a hat, mittens, headband or scarf

  • Swansea Community Workshops|High Street

Service Description

Wrap up warm for winter, in fleecy accessories you have sewn yourself. You will be taught to use a sewing machine to create one or more of the items available: a hat, ear warmer, mittens, scarf or infinity scarf. If you happen to have an old jumper, blanket or fleece lying around that would like a new lease of life as a winter accessory, then bring it along and we can repurpose it as a hat or mittens! This workshop is part of the Winter Warmers series, which has been sponsored by Swansea Community Workshops, with funding from the Community Matters Fund. It is provided free to participants who are experiencing fuel poverty: the Welsh Government defines a fuel poor household as “being in fuel poverty if they are unable to keep their home warm at a reasonable cost. This is measured as any household needing to pay more than 10% of their full household income to maintain a satisfactory heating regime.” If you wish to attend the course but do not meet the criteria there are a limited number of places available at a cost of £15. In both cases, please book using the following link: Booking a place is essential: I will be unable to accommodate walk in participants.
