Make a Summer Duvet Dress

Recycle a duvet cover into a fantastic summer dress! Bring along an old duvet cover (double or king size, single if you are making a dress for a child) and transform it into a perfectly unique summer dress. Featuring a shirred bodice, gathered skirt and a choice of shoulder straps or sleeves, this dress can have as many frills as you like! And, of course, pockets! You will find these workshops most accessible if you have a basic knowledge of how to operate a sewing machine: if you have never sewn before, I recommend attending one of the Introduction to sewing courses prior to attending these workshops. We will be sewing the bodice using shirring elastic and the skirt will be gathered. If you have not attempted these techniques before, they will be covered fully in the class. We will be using a pattern from easilymadepatterns.com (course price includes your own printed copy of the pattern - I do purchase the digital rights for each attendee) which is easily adapted to add extra frills and flounces as desired! I try very hard not to cancel sessions, but it is occasionally unavoidable. Should this occur you will be offered the choice of a place in a later course or a refund for the missed session. Fees are otherwise non refundable.
