Bag Making Course

  • Ended
  • 45 British pounds
  • High Street

Service Description

Join us to make a cute little bag! Following the success of my last bag making workshop, I am pleased to offer this additional class. We will be recycling scraps of fabric and trim to create unique fabrics, and then using our fabric to create eye-catching pockets for our bags, in a 5 hour workshop (with a half hour break for lunch). You will need to be familiar with using a sewing machine: able to thread the machine, and sew in a (reasonably) straight line. You will need to bring two pieces of fabric. While you can purchase fabric, if you prefer, I do encourage people to consider reusing fabrics from clothing and household textiles that are no longer suitable for wear. The first fabric should measure around 70cm by 43cm, and will be the main body of the bag. Because we are making "statement" pockets, you might want to choose a solid colour for this. Consider using the fabric from an old pair of jeans, or curtain fabric. If it isn't quite the right size and shape, don't worry, as we can sew two pieces together. The second piece of fabric should be at least 50cmx43cm, with 2 smaller pieces of the same fabric measuring at least 26cmx26cm. These will be the bag and pocket lining, and can be fabric from an outworn dress, an old shirt or blouse, etc.
